Mando Saenz

If your a Texas story telling music fan, check out our review of Mando Saenz's debut album Watertown. We are just glad we were able to enjoy it before January 25th.

After receiving Mando Saenz's debut album Watertown, I threw it in the player for its first spin and let me tell you I haven't been this excited about an album in awhile. With the first track entitled "Julia", I was pulled in and I still can't let go. Singer songwriter Mando Saenz has truly put together a work of art. His voice and stories remind me of Lyle Lovett style of music. Almost every song I could picture myself driving down IH90 through Sabinal, Uvalde, and Del Rio. Damm it I wish I was driving somewhere in Texas with this CD on full blast. It only pisses me off that I'm not. At first I was beginning to think the whole album was ballads (which would have been alright), but then I heard "April's End" and "Egg Song" it became more intriguing. Also being born in Mexico and moving to Corpus Christi, the album wouldn't be complete without an accordion somewhere, and yes he does pull it off. It's great.

Time for my review. In case you couldn't tell or were confused about my review, I suggest you pick it up. To me it's a must have. I hope you enjoy it as much as I have.
